Alumni Weekend

Jon and I spent the weekend in Utah attending a BYU football alumni event and visiting with friends and family.

I don't have any pictures to share but we had a great time. We arrived Thursday night and met Jon's two sisters and their husbands for dinner in Salt Lake City at Z Tejas. We had a great time. We spent the weekend in Alpine staying at our friends TD and Kelly Biegel. It was great to spend time with them and talk about funny memories.

Friday, Jon and I headed up to Salt Lake City to visit with our friends Marianne and Rich Lloyd. It was amazing to get to spend time with them. Rich is currently fighting a Gbm (type of brain) tumor. We feel very blessed that we were able to spend the day with them. Our friend Greg Kandare was also visiting with Rich that day, too. We headed back down to Provo for the alumni BBQ and practice. It was great to see friends that Jon played with at BYU. Some of them we haven't seen in 13 years.

Saturday, Jon, TD and Matt Redden spent the day skiing at Deer Valley. I started my day with a Route 44 Sonic Diet Coke and picked up my great friend Michelle Cook for a little retail therapy! We had a great time. Kelly met us for lunch and Nannette Curtis (a friend from Texas living in Highland, UT) also joined us. Then we had a big gathering at Cafe Rio for dinner with Ben and Michelle Cook, Cory and Angie Cook, Matt, TD and Kelly, Greg and Brad Curtis.

It was a fabulous weekend (not the 6 a.m. flight back home today) but we are back and ready to start a new week. I made sure to stop by Kohler's in Alpine, UT and get a big back of chocolate dipped cinnamon gummy bears to bring home. (Thanks Kelly Biegel -- she got me hooked on these a couple of years ago when we were visiting.)
