This single parenting thing is for the birds! Jon has been gone for 9 days. He gets home tomorrow. In the last week I have had to:
Have AAA come change the tire on Jon's car (of course then the spare doesn't hold air)
Take the car to the tire shop ASAP to fix the tire and the spare
Lindsey was home sick last week -- went to the clinic over the weekend -- she has influenza and strep throat (while I am on the way to the clinic, Jon calls and tells me he is climbing the Eiffel Tower -- great honey!)
Doctor insisted that I needed to get the other kids a flu shot to prevent the flu from spreading -- take Ashley, Blake and me to get flu shots -- TJ chose not to get the shot -- I told him if he got sick he was going to take care of himself
Take the kids to rent a movie and Jon's car starts sounding it's alarm and I can't get it to turn off -- we leave and go home -- turn the car off in the garage and the alarm starts going off again
Lindsey finally goes back to school yesterday
Was I really in Maui just 2 weeks ago????

Hawaii Recap
We had a fabulous time in Maui. We have great memories to log away and laughed a lot with our great friends Scott and Tiffany. The time went by way to fast and now I am back in the thick of kids, cold weather and a husband who travels (to Europe for 10 days).
We spent a couple of days relaxing by the beach/pool and watching the whales off of the coast. They were everywhere. We took a whale watching cruise and had whales swimming right besides us and under our boat.
We went on a Zip line tour -- I did it! I hate heights but try and do things that I know Jon will love. Needless to say there were a few choice words for those that teased me and made the bridges rock! It was great and I am glad I did it.
We tend to eat really well when we are in Maui -- the best fish ever! The desserts were great too (can you say molten chocolate cake)!
The road to Hana has some of the prettiest scenery but the road is very winding and can take a long time to get there. We had some great laughs along the way (some car sickness, too).
Of course, my favorite part of the trip was relaxing by the beach and sipping on a Pina Colada (virgin of course).

Back to Reality
We arrived back home today. After taking off from Maui last night with the beach on the horizon, we flew all night and landed here with the brown/white snow on the ground. At least it is warm enough to start melting the snow -- I am sure more is on the way.
I will have more updates later. We had a great time and lots of memories were made.
